Have you ever met someone who is an expert? In today’s world, there seem to be those who are very knowledgable on just about any conceivable subject. They even have experts who gather together to create a “Color of the Year.”

Laure Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute has said, “The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.”

These colors are picked upon fashion trends, psychological emotional response, and recommendations. 2018’s Pantone Color of The Year is Ultra Violet, or more specifically – Pantone Ultra Violet 18-3838 Ultra Violet – “a blue-based purple.”

Violet is beautiful color, but the “original” Violet — created by God as seen in the violets that emerge each year from beneath the earth’s surface — gives me enough joy with or without recognition from the Pantone Institute.

All the wisdom that this earthly world provides, like the Color of the Year, will still leave the human heart feeling empty, even when the brain feels full. He made us to long for more than the experts of this world can offer. He made us to only find complete satisfaction in the knowledge of saving grace and in a personal relationship with Him. He doesn’t care how much you know or what you can offer, He just wants you as you are.

What a sigh of relief.
